Wadi homes out of scaffolding

06-12-2023

Last year, the portas in Wilhelminahaven were completed and now the Kokon-designed wadi houses are also out of scaffolding. With a beautiful bird's-eye view, JimJan Multimedia/Oosterbouwt captured the overall plan beautifully.

Living along the wadi, Wilhelminahaven's green lung, means lots of privacy and nature experience. At the back, the house sits with its roots in the sunken green strip. The difference in height is almost two metres. The wadi houses are playfully scattered along the large wadi running through the Wilhelminahaven neighbourhood. Find out more about the design of the houses.

The main function of the wadi is to collect rainwater, purifying it and slowly releasing it into the ground. In this way, wadis help against both flooding and drought.
