Fire station

In a charming village in the province of Zuid-Holland, a new fire station will be built. Kokon has provided the design, and visibly showing the fire station’s function was a main starting point. A red main shape depicting the movement of a fire hose was transformed into a nice and open building.

At the first floor, the main personnel spaces are located, while at the ground floor cars can be parked behind transparent rolling doors. Because of excess of space on the designated plot, other functions will also be housed in the building. Every function needs to be identifiable, while still remaining part of the entire building’s architecture.
