HavenVeste
The Schiedam care institution Frankelandgroep is expanding with 62 care apartments and several additional facilities. According to our client, "you can only buy your neighbour’s terrain once".
Kokon was asked to design this 'HavenVeste' building and manage the whole development. Working together with advisors IMd, Tree Delft and Laysan, the project is steadily developing. The apartments are situated in an L-shaped volume, while the facilities are located at the rear of the building and in an adjacent mass. An atrium spanning 6 floors connects the different parts of the building. The main entrance is relocated to the new building, and the internal catering facilities are significantly expanded.
The application for a building permit is expected to be submitted mid 2020, and subsequently construction can start in Q2 2021.
