Wonen in Ambacht

Close to the old structure of Hendrik Ido Ambacht, a neighbourhood under development is slowly but surely taking shape in close cooperation between developer, buyers and Kokon. Different types of houses, from bungalows and terraced houses to semi-detached and detached houses are grouped around a central square, a composed ensemble with a sheltered environment.

Buyers have had major influence in the creation of the architecture, in various sessions the preferences with regard to style, the color palette of the brickwork, the roof tiles and the frames, the characteristic details and the priorities in the organization of the home. This has led to a process in which fun and effectiveness went together for all involved. The direct communication between buyer, architect, developer and broker at one table was fast, unambiguous and effective, something that greatly benefitted all involved.

That is also reflected in the result, architecture with a warm character in which influences can be found from the Dutch 1930s and cottage style. A great deal of attention was paid to the coordination between the ceramic, brown-orange roof tile and the mixed brown-red and living white of the brickwork surfaces, which resulted in a recognisable and unified ambience.
